"MERIDEN BRITANNIA CO. (THE)
In the year 1852 Messrs. I. C. Lewis, L. J. Curtis, W. W. Lyman, H. C. Wilcox and other gentlemen of Meriden, Conn., organized a manufacturing company for the production of articles in britannia metal and adopted the corporate name of Meriden Britannia Co... From a moderate beginning the plant of this Company has increased until its floor surface covers over eight acres of space. It is one of the representative establishments of its kind in the world... Manufacturers of "1847" Rodgers [sic] Bros. Silver Ware; Gold and Silver Plate on Fine Nickel Silver and White Metal; Tea, Coffee and Water Sets, Candelabra, Epergnes, Fruit Dishes, Cake Baskets, Baking Dishes, etc. etc. Offices: New York, Chicago, Meriden, London, Paris, San Francisco, and Hamilton, Ont."
