A. J. Hall & Co. (2 February 1904). Advertisement: "... We manufacture for the trade; all grades of lamps, globes and shades, both for kerosene and gas.... Globes for lamps, all sizes. Cracker and tobacco jars. Novelties in glass and china of every description. All our work being hand-painted and artistic in designs... "The industry was started in a small way in 1899 by Arthur J. Hall... factory at the corner of Mechanic and George streets... They manufacture gas and lamp shades, decorated novelties, including tobacco jars and cracker jars, vases, bric-a-brac, and many other goods..."

"... Walter Wilson, an Englishman who worked as a decorator for The Handel Co., later became chief decorator for the A. J. Hall Co. ... Another Handel employe, Arthur J. Hall, also chose to go it on his own and in 1899 he opened a decorating business of his own..." (Excerpt from above.)
