"Founded c. 1935 by I. A. Lipman who rented space in the old C. F. Monroe factory and took over E. M. Whiting Co. of N. Attleboro, G. H. French & Co., New York and Concord Silversmiths, Ltd., Concord, New Hampshire, about 1939. Whiting had been making sterling flatware and some holloware, French made novelties and dresserware... established branch offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The W. S. Blackinton Co. became a division of the Ellmore Co. in the 1940s. The Ellmore Co. went out of business in 1960..." (From Dorothy T.
