This Micro issue aims for “Less is more”: here, key messaging wrapped in musical emotion—with reference to the micro-video clip from the bizarre movie classic Liquid Sky (1983) directed by Slava Tsukerman.
For those unfamiliar with the film, this clip shows an alien, recently landed on the roof of a New York City penthouse, experiencing Sensation with its first alien-orgasm. With its power eye—and via the reflection of a mirror on the penthouse balcony—the alien sees a Venetian mask surrounded by neon. Behind it, drugs are stashed. But the power eye sees through the mask-facade and consumes them in colorful ecstasy.
Later the alien starts consuming the orgasms of various “cool” nightclub characters—after various “acts” at the penthouse....
In parallel, ADP aims to offer a power-eye to readers to see through the Venetian masks of the twisted and highly entertaining art world... sort of like "Sarah Thornton meets the Liquid Sky alien".
